Why AlwaysReady exists
My career spans nursing, education, and adult social care. I know what it means to stand where you are standing now. Responsible for a service, accountable for every decision. Acutely aware that the quality of people's lives depends on the systems you build and the culture you sustain. As a registered manager, I know the exact moment your stomach drops when an inspector arrives unannounced. I know the frantic search through shared drives, paper folders, and half-remembered emails for evidence that should have been effortless to retrieve. And I understand the quiet, heavy reality of managing an entire service's compliance alone.
My understanding of care runs deep. I have studied it from the ground up: frontline practice, operational leadership, and the lived realities of staff and service users. I have also pursued it through academic research, all the way to doctoral level.
Stepping back from my role after a serious injury gave me something unexpected: time to think. I began mapping out the platform I had always wished existed. A platform designed specifically for independent adult social care. Not adapted from generic business tools, or repurposed from sectors that operate nothing like ours. I built it in response to a simple truth: leaders deserve systems that work with them, not against them.
